I tried to make her watch Björk videos but she said "that's not music" and turned the TV off.

Our cable box/DVR combo is completely dead. This means no cable, no On Demand, no recorded shows.

We own 3 DVDs the kid will watch: Panda! Go, Panda! (which we have watched so many times, we started watching it in Japanese), something with the San Diego Zoo (which she has minimal interest in), and a Thomas the Tank Engine one.

If I hear "really useful engines don't argue" one more time, I will raise the people's army and seize control of the state.

does your public library have dvds? (ours does.)

Our library only recently (within the last 6-ish months) started stocking DVDs. And while they are enjoying our cast-off copies of "Tommy" and "Citizen Kane," their selection of kids DVDs is woefully inadequate.

that's very sad.
one more reason to love the Twin Cities.
ours has graphic novels, too.

at least it's not teenage mutant ninja turtles. I watched those a lot while babysitting. the pain.

do you have a VCR? I'm sure you know that the vast majority of kids movies are on VHS tape. If you need some, I'm fairly positive that I have a box of non-barney around here somewhere.

No, but I DO have a large paperweight with a loose wire that I have yet to disconnect from my television...
